Inspired By A Comment: Dion's English

I saw this clip on YouTube but I wasn't going to post it because as a Kennedy supporter I know candidates have their weaknesses and Gerard's happens to be French. Well a commentor in a previous post says Dion's English isn't that bad compared to Gerard's French, well watch the clip, you be the judge.

What are you talking about?

If you think Kennedy's French is better than Dion's English, you must be a unilingual anglophone.

Dion's English is better than any candidate's French. That includes Ingnatieff and Rae.

Liberal can you read my blog before you comment? Is that so much to ask? This is what I said:
"I saw this clip on YouTube but I wasn't going to post it because as a Kennedy supporter I know candidates have their weaknesses and Gerard's happens to be French. Well a commentor in a previous post says Dion's English isn't that bad compared to Gerard's French, well watch the clip, you be the judge. "

Do you see any where me suggesting Kennedy was better? No I didn't. For you to say Dion's english is better then all the candidates french that is just wrong. Bob Rae and Michael Ignatieff don't misplace verbs and nouns, Stephane Dion did.

And for anonymous, I understand Dion's english and I also understand Kennedy's french, both just aren't that pleasant to hear. If you need exact references play the clip, there is a few words there at one moment where I defy you to tell me what he's saying.

It's pretty clear that you can't speak French if you think that Dion's English is worse than Kennedy's French. Dion has an accent, so what? In French, Kennedy's issue is not an accent, it's simply an inability to speak the language.

However, if you want to continue to insult French speaking people in a party who supposedly holds bilingualism as an non-negotiable tenant of Canadianism, that is certainly your perogative.

Craig: Well if you decide if a candidates' speaking skills are good by listening to pundits, by all means. That just goes to show how much your comment should actually be taken seriously.

Anonymous: You say, "It's pretty clear that you can't speak French if you think that Dion's English is worse than Kennedy's French." Find where I said Dion's english is worse then Kennedy's french, you won't be able to because I never did.

I'm letting everyone know right now, I will delete your comment if you obviously lie or are so obviously mistaken because you don't read my blog.

Further anonymous you said: "However, if you want to continue to insult French speaking people in a party who supposedly holds bilingualism as an non-negotiable tenant of Canadianism, that is certainly your perogative."

Where did I insult french speaking canadians? I didn't. You are lying.

Further I will say Canadianism doesnot mean bilingualism, not in the Liberal Party and not in my Canada. There were Prime Ministers who weren't bilingual, children aren't bilingual, most Canadian war
heros weren't bilingual, more then 60% of Canada is not bilingual, so you, anonymous disgust me with your notion of Canadianism.

The english shown in those clips is certainly not fitting of the two-bit "this is real footage" slates inserted into the viz. For those to work, there has to be a self-evident flaw, where the slates simply drive home what the viewer is already thinking by agreeing with their sentiment. This video is clearly trying to falsely ensue that sort of impression, since we read from a number of other commentors that his english is very understandable here. Therefore, this video meets the conditions of slander and propegandha in their academic definitions. Slander and Propeghanda. Is that the tactic of Mr. Kennedy's supporters? The creator of this video, and the creator of this post should really be examined for their suitability for the Liberal party. I'm sure there are welcome spots for propeghandists in the Conservative Party.

(I take my hand from my face) It's spelled propaganda.

I did not make this video. I had seen it earlier, and a previous commentor motivated me into posting it. So for you to say a Kennedy supporter did this is wrong.

For you to say it doesn't show Dion's poor English, I've already convinced someone his English, in their words, "sucks."

Then for you to question my Liberalism is crass. I do give my opinion on things, but I do so illustrating logic and politeness as best as I can.

I believe the Liberal Party is the party where one can say anything, or in this matter, post anything he wishes. It is the conservatives that don't permit discussion about religon, sex, and social issues. It is the NDP that doesn't allow the discussion of war, capitalism, etc. It is the Liberal party that allows all.

If you have a problem with the video clip, you can find the video on youtube and investigate further.
